VBS, 2 Months Pictures, and 1st Shots

This past week has been a busy one. We had Vacation Bible School Sunday-Wednesday which means really late nights for Aylin and long days and nights for mommy! I got a picture of the 3 Southaven girls sitting by themselves for class: Laney Claire, Micah, and Aylin. The next 3 pictures are of Aylin in class each night:

The picture above is my new favorite picture of baby girl. Below are all of us posing for a "Aylin's 1st VBS picture," it was taken right before the balloon release.

And now for the shots picture. She hated it of course, I mean what kid likes getting shots? She screamed her little head off and one of the shots bled a lot, which I did not like. But, afterwards, she pretty much just went back to normal, we did give her her 1st taste of Tylenol (grape flavored). And she got her 1st band-aids, they were Daffy Duck!
And finally, below is Aylin's 2 month picture in her rocking chair, she wouldn't wake up for these :) but she is still adorable!

The Perry's

Aylin finally got to meet her Uncle Chris, Aunt Danyelle, Jordan, and Cydney Jane and I finally got to see my "other kids" again, it had been way too long! Here are some pics. Let's see, Jordan is 3 yrs old, CJ is 13 months, and AJ is 7 weeks. I so want a big family :) Jordan was suppose to give me a kiss, instead he licked me. Although that is probably my fault for introducing him to doggie kisses at such an early age.

Stealing momma's kisses from Jordan.
Cydney Jane REALLY likes her new cousin!

AJ and Her Bumbo

"Aylin Jewel Bug" (that is what her daddy calls her) is doing great. We are taking it easy this week because it is just so hot outside and we will have a crazy next week-VBS at Southaven. We have decided that belly time does not work for us, she just lays her head down and goes to sleep, so we have been using our Bumbo! I really think I just like to say that word! But it seems to help her bulid up those muscles to hold her head up. She is 7 weeks old in the picture above. She, thankfully, is still sleeping very well on most nights. Although, 2 nights ago we had a really bad night - she woke up EVERY HOUR! Most of the time she goes 3 hours between feedings, sometimes 4 and almost always gives me one 5-6 hour period at night! So, I think that is great.

Catch Up

Sorry I haven't posted since mid-May. We have just been on the go sice the Dr. released us from house arrest. Let's see, Aylin Jewel is now 6 weeks and 1 day old :) She is doing well, we really think she is growing. We have been all around town, to our 1st Bible Class, going to daddy's softball games, out to eat, shopping, etc.

AJ Is 3 Weeks Old

Aylin is 3 weeks old today! First thing we had to do was go to the doctor for another weight gain check up. Great news: WE PASSED! We don't have to go back until she is 2 months old and then it is time for the dreaded shots! She weighed in today at 6 lbs 9 oz and doc said we could stop supplementing now, although I think I will still continue to do formula one feeding a day. Everything else looked good for baby girl and she didn't cry as much this time when the Dr. was checking her over. He did warn us that her days of being a sleepy head preemie are probably almost over and she might actually start becoming more alert and even begin crying some. He also said we should be able to take her out into public the week of her due date, provided no other crazy flus pop up. :)

After the Dr. visit we went to the hospital to check on a friend who had surgery, then went to Hobby Lobby to get me a black shirt for our pictures Tuesday (I could not fins a long sleeve black shirt anywhere else!), then we went to Chili's to eat, and then to Babies R Us to pick up our ottoman and our chest of drawers! She stayed in her car seat for everything poor kid, but she was a trooper.

A Lot Has Happened

On May 1st my blood pressure started to rise again and the doctors decided to induce me. They let me labor for 6 hours but unfortunately in those 6 hours nothing happened and I mean nothing, so I got prepped for a C-Section. At 6:36 PM little Aylin Jewel arrived at 35 weeks and 3 days weighing 5 lbs 14 oz and measuring 19 inches long with a full head of dark hair and perfectly working lungs! In fact, she was doing so well that my little "preemie" did NOT have to go to the NICU! On May 5th they released us from the hospital, she was doing great, my BP was still high. Everything is going well, we have been home for a week and a half and today Aylin is 2 weeks old!

Update

We are still in the hospital. My protein levels are still increasing and Aylin's fluid has dropped down .2 to an even 7. My blood pressure is generally okay as long as I am on my meds and reclined in some manner. The doctor has put a 15 minute limit on my visitors because my blood pressure tends to sky rocket when I am talking for long periods of times. Go figure. Me having a problem with talking too much! :) (I've been in trouble for that since I was in daycare.) We had another ultrasound today and besides the fluid level everything with baby girl looks GREAT! I think the plan is to repeat all blood tests and urine tests every couple of days and my next ultrasound will probably be later on in the week.

I had my first bad night on Saturday. It had been a busy day and my blood pressure went crazy (166/104) so they gave me a high dose blood pressure med, starts with a P, which lowered my BP so fast that I started having chills, you could feel heat seeping through my skin but I had no fever, and my head slowly started pounding. Within a few hours, every circumference of my head and neck were pulsating and I could not move because of the pain. They gave me Tylenol 3 or some type of pain killer (2 every 3 hrs or so) but they did not seem to do a thing. It was like every migraine I have ever had all wrapped up into one. I spent most of Sunday recovering from the night and the pain and I have a note on my chart to not be given one of those things again! But, I am now on a low-dose BP med twice a day because whithout it my BP gets to high.
