The Boys' Birthday Party Invitation Photo Shoot

You know how there are those parents who try to be fair to all their kids, meaning b/c they do one thing for one kid they might try to do it for all the kids?  Well that is me.  Aylin had photo invitations for her first 5 birthday parties and birthday shirts made for her first 5 birthdays (I keep the shirts for a future quilt) so I am trying to do that for the boys too.  Weston's photo shoot was crazy! and I think every picture is somewhat blurry because the boy would not stay still:

or a big brother streaked in front of the camera:
or he was TOO CLOSE:

or attacking one of the stuffed puppies:
 awe here's my Boy:
Hilton's went better but all he wanted to do was jump on the trampoline:

My Kindergarten Graduate

Well it was a lot of work but Aylin made it through Kindergarten! LOL!  She worked hard (when she wanted too) and we are proud of her.  Kindergarten has changed a lot, even since I quit teaching which was just a few years ago.  They took spelling tests and timed addition and subtraction tests and had to be reading at a level C, all of which, honestly, seems a little crazy to me-but we did it!

The 1st picture is from their end of the year program, Aylin is the pink fish head on the right.  The program was very cute and she STILL sings the shark song!
1st day of Kindergarten and the end of Kindergarten :)  I sure wish they took those old cap and gown pics, those are so sweet at this age!
Kiki took off work and came to the program with us, you can see Hilton and Weston were very entertained by the Kindergarteners singing - lol
Aylin with Mrs. Powers, her Kindergarten teacher.
Aylin with Mrs. Graves, her Kindergarten assistant.
Aylin with Mrs. Audra, our friend from church, and her tutor because we need some one on one to function correctly.
Perhaps my favorite thing made by Aylin to come home from Kindergarten this year.  I think I am going to try to have it enlarged and copied and framed :)

Kindergarten was rough on us and although I kind of knew it already, this year proved to me that Aylin needs strong structure and small group or one on one instruction/guidance.  While we have always planned on homeschooling eventually, I think it will happen much sooner than later.  Of course, getting up so early for school (7:40 start time) and some not-so-sweet language/behavior from other students didn't help our experience either.

Aylin's 6th Birthday Party

Just for fun: Aylin at all of her birthday parties thus far:
and group shots:

Aylin decided she wanted to have a Unicorn Paint party this year, and I must say we thoroughly enjoyed it.  We went to Let's Paint because they had the best deal out of all the paint places in Desoto County.  They made this for her and she, of course, got to keep her unicorn painting.
A group shot of the finished paintings :)
and her annual picture with her Cody and "Maygan" :)
 Some action shots:
 Singing to my birthday girl:
 Presents:
I absolutely LOVED making her cake and cupcakes this year, she helped and we really had a lot of fun making all the different colors and swirls :)

The guests' take homes were these lollipops and their unicorn or ninja turtle paintings.
and these were the invitations she passed out:
she continued her rainbow colored theme with iced chocolate chip glitter cookies from Annaolivia's for her friends at school.
