Update

We are still in the hospital. My protein levels are still increasing and Aylin's fluid has dropped down .2 to an even 7. My blood pressure is generally okay as long as I am on my meds and reclined in some manner. The doctor has put a 15 minute limit on my visitors because my blood pressure tends to sky rocket when I am talking for long periods of times. Go figure. Me having a problem with talking too much! :) (I've been in trouble for that since I was in daycare.) We had another ultrasound today and besides the fluid level everything with baby girl looks GREAT! I think the plan is to repeat all blood tests and urine tests every couple of days and my next ultrasound will probably be later on in the week.

I had my first bad night on Saturday. It had been a busy day and my blood pressure went crazy (166/104) so they gave me a high dose blood pressure med, starts with a P, which lowered my BP so fast that I started having chills, you could feel heat seeping through my skin but I had no fever, and my head slowly started pounding. Within a few hours, every circumference of my head and neck were pulsating and I could not move because of the pain. They gave me Tylenol 3 or some type of pain killer (2 every 3 hrs or so) but they did not seem to do a thing. It was like every migraine I have ever had all wrapped up into one. I spent most of Sunday recovering from the night and the pain and I have a note on my chart to not be given one of those things again! But, I am now on a low-dose BP med twice a day because whithout it my BP gets to high.

Strict Bedrest

Well unfortunately my protein levels have actually tripled over the last week and they have put me in the hospital on bedrest for the remainder of my term. Not exactly sure how long that will be they said we will just have to play it by ear. My actual due date is June 2nd, my ultimate goal is an induction date of May 13th (37 weeks and 1 day), my short term goal for this week is to get to April 29th (35 weeks and 1 day).

I can't stand being in the hospital, it is very boring. I miss my big tv and channels, my own bed, my poor baby girls (Buttercup and Tes), my swing, my FOOD, etc. I don't know how some women do it. A few ladies on my hall have been in here on bedrest for 2 months already and still have months to go, but they keep me hopeful - if they can do it for that long than I can survive! Oh, I miss music too.

In Hospital Again

Well it has been a week since I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and I am in the hospital for the 2nd time. My blood pressure is staying on the high side and the protein levels in my urine seem to be creeping up, but I feel great and baby AJ is doing great :) Aylin Jewel measured in at 5 lbs 13 oz Monday when I had an ultrasound so the Dr. says she is a great size. If I can last until May 13th they are going to take her out then, I will be 37 weeks along. That is all I know for now. If they let me go home I will be on STRICT bedrest, none of this partial stuff I have been doing :)

High School Banquet

Every Spring, the Southaven Youth Group gets together and hosts a banquet for our high school kids. Other local congregations also join us for the fun and fellowship. This year, the kids and chaperones toured Graceland, went to downtown Memphis to The Pier to eat, took carriage rides, and then went to Starbucks. The last 2 things pretty much occur every year, as for the first two activities they change each year. As always, this was a blast and a huge success. Bobby and I look forward to getting dressed up and having a night out with everyone, probably as much as all the kids do!
The picture on the left is Bobby and I in front of Graceland and on the right are most of the teenagers.

My First Baby Shower

My hostesess were the best ever! They know how to throw a party :) Heather Everson, Jennifer Stubblefield, Suzanne Wofford, and Susanne Baker - you guys rock!

We had our very first baby shower. This one took place at the church building and was awesome! I opened around 80 presents (very tiring) and we had great, great food. I am so thankful for everyone who came out to the shower, especially those who drove long distances to be there.
